| A cultural landscape can be understood as the sum of visible traces of past and present human activities and natural processes, in interaction with each other. Man, whom in turn was influenced by the landscape, economically, socially and ritually, formed the landscape. Landscape with long traditions and visible traces from several phases as regarded as being especially worthy of protection. With its combined cultural and natural resources the Sarmishsai Petroglyph Site represents important sources of knowledge and experience in a unique cultural landscape which must be protected to the benefit of the local community, visitors and future research. |
